Brother

Brother Industries, Ltd., established in 1908 as Yasui Sewing Machine Co. in Nagoya, Japan, began by offering sewing machine repair services. The company introduced its first original product, a chain-stitch sewing machine for straw hats, in 1928 under the "Brother" brand, symbolizing the collaboration of the Yasui brothers.

Over the decades, Brother expanded its product range to include printers, multifunction printers, desktop computers, fax machines, industrial sewing machines, typewriters, and more. Notably, in 1971, Brother developed the high-speed dot-matrix printer in collaboration with Centronics Data Computer Corporation.
